muhl co school 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (7/16/13) – On Monday night, July 15th, 2013, The Muhlenberg Board of Education met in special session, taking a major step toward the selection of a new Superintendent for the school system.
 
Due to regulations, up until now, none of the names of candidates have been released to the public or media.
 
Approximately 25 individuals had applied for the position left open when former Supt. Dale Todd retired on June 30. After a 40-minute closed session, the board reopened the meeting to the public.
 
Although one board member questioned whether the names of the six finalists should be made public at this time, Chairman Don Richey noted that since Board Member Margaret Williams served on the search committee, it seemed an appropriate time to disclose the identities of the six finalists.
 
Those chosen to be interviewed included Kara B. Bullock of Ohio County, Robert E. Davis of Muhlenberg County, Walter L. Freeman of Muhlenberg County, Randle B. McCarty of Muhlenberg County, Dr. Francis V. O'Hara of Nicholasville, and Steven G. Sparks of Muhlenberg County.
 
The individual interview process will begin at 6 p.m. on July 22nd, with one interview taking place each weekday, excluding Wednesdays.
 
All interviews will be held in closed session at the Board of Education office in the following dates:
 
Monday, July 22nd - Mrs. Kara B. Bullock
Tuesday, July 23rd - Dr. Francis V. O'Hara
Thursday, July 25th - Mr. Robert E. Davis
Friday, July 26th - Mr. Randall B. McCarty
Monday, July 29th - Mr. Steven G. Sparks
Tuesday, July 30th - Mr. Walter L. Freeman III
