DRAKESBORO, Ky.(10/23/13)– The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 on U.S. 431 in Drakesboro.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jeremy Lindsey, 30 of Sacramento, Ky., was operating a 1993 Toyota Corolla northbound on U.S. 431 while David Wade, 56 of Crofton, Ky., was operating a 2011 Ford Ranger southbound on US 431, according to Kentucky State Police report.
The report said a vehicle traveling northbound in front of Lindsey was stopped in traffic waiting to turn left from U.S. 431 onto Cornette Street.
Lindsey was unable to stop and swerved into the southbound lane where his vehicle struck Wade’s vehicle head-on. Wade’s vehicle exited the southbound side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Lindsey’s vehicle spun out of control and exited off the northbound side of the roadway coming to rest in a ditch.
Wade was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Lindsey was transported by a privately owned vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both operators were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved, according to the report.
Tpr. Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
