Juvenile Shot with Buckshot by Another Juvenile

shooting 300OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (01/13/14) – Kentucky State Troopers charged a 17 year-old Hartford juvenile with wanton endangerment and assault after being notified by the Ohio County Sheriffs Department of a shooting around the 12000 block of US 231 around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12.

Troopers were told that four juveniles went squirrel hunting in some nearby woods earlier in the day, and at some point around dusk, the 15 year-old victim decided to leave for home. For an unknown reason, the 17 year-old juvenile started shooting a .410 shotgun multiple times in the direction of the 15 year-old as he was running away, said KSP. The 15 year-old, who was struck with the buckshot, had small whelps and superficial abrasions on his legs. He and his family did not seek medical treatment.

The 17 year-old was cited and released to his legal guardian. The investigation is continuing, according to KSP.
