new location 300BENTON, Ky. (6/18/13) – Substance abuse can easily be defined as a pattern of harmful use of any substance for mood-altering purposes. However, the broad spectrum of substances that are used in today’s society is not that simple.

Substance Abuse can be connected to the misuse of alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, prescription drugs and other substances that can alter how one’s mind and body works. It is possible for some people to abuse substances without becoming emotionally, physically or psychologically dependent. However, depending on some substances happens quickly and can be very difficult to reverse. Substance abusers come from different backgrounds such as; rich, poor, educated, and uneducated. Regardless of one’s background or personal situation, substance abuse affects the abuser and the people who love them.

The Healthy Choice Centers, which are located in Madisonville, Eddyville and the newest office in Benton are Substance Abuse Treatment Centers that can help with providing services one would need to help get them back on the right track.

“We are here if someone needs substance abuse help,” expressed Richard Tucker. “You can call any of the offices and they will be glad to help in any way they can….we are here for them.”

With 30 years of substance abuse experience combined, the Healthy Choice Centers have been steadily growing over the last year.

The new office in Benton will be located on 1018 Main Street of Downtown Benton. The office hours are Monday and Wednesday and are open from 12:00pm-8:00pm. You must call to make an appointment.

“We provide DUI and substance abuse services,” stated Tucker. “We have over 30 years of experienced certified substance abuse instructors.”
