This Friday night's Greenville Fire Department (GFD) Bike Night in the courtyard will feature not only some of the hottest American-made and Foreign motorcycles on Earth, but will also spotlight some of the hottest groups in the tri-state live on stage in a Battle of the Bands.

Bands performing will be eligible for a Battle of the Bands on June 28th, July 26th, and August 23rd. The top band will rock off the stage with a thousand dollars in prize money at the end of the season.

Friday Night Live
Friday Night Live, this free outdoor summer concert series, opens with a 5K Run/Fun Walk sponsored by the Hopkins County UK Alumni Club, the Fire Department's Kid's Obstacle Course, and other activities including the Chamber of Commerce beer garden, inflatables, food vendors and more. Barry Potter and the Hoscats, Ray Ligon, and The Pat Ballard Band will perform. Event starts at 6:00pm – 10:00pm. Located on 15 E Center St, Downtown Madisonville, Madisonville, KY 42431.

Big Blue 5K Run & 1 1/2 Mile Fun Walk
In conjunction with Friday Night Live summer concert series, the Hopkins County UK Alumni Club will sponsor this annual 5K run/fun walk. The run features a looping course beginning on East Center Street, winding through scenic downtown and ending on East Center Street. Men’s and women’s overall awards will be presented along with a short sleeve race shirt to all entrants. The pre-registration fee is $25. Starts at 6:00pm -7:00pm.

Mad Flavor Arts & Music Festival
Madisonville, KY is hosting the 1st Annual MAD Flavor Fest Saturday, June 15th 2013. This festival is meant to celebrate artists of all medias in the Western Kentucky region. The MAD Flavor Fest will feature local musicians, crafts makers, visual artists, film makers, and food vendors. From 10:00am – 11:00pm. Located on Ballard Convention Center, 605 East Arch Street, Madisonville, Kentucky 42431.

Take a Kid Fishing
The 9th Annual Take a Kid Fishing Day will be held at the Madisonville City Park this Saturday June 15, 2013. This event is sponsored by Wal-Mart and Coordinated by Noon Kiwanis.This event will start at 12:00pm. There are four age groups; 3-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, and 13-15 years. The overall kid that catches the biggest fish gets a $100.00 gift card and a trophy. Second and third place will receive a white or red ribbon. Kids in each age group that catches the largest fish will receive a trophy and a $10.00 gift card to Wal-Mart. Every year Wal-Mart donates $1000.00 and provides food and drinks and bait for the kids. The child can bring their own equipment. However, if they don’t have any, there will be some provided. Small children must wear life jackets. The Hopkins County Bass Club will be lending its services to those who need help and to weigh the fish.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY

8th Annual Soapbox Derby
The All-American Soap Box Derby, "The Greatest Amateur Racing Event in the World," is a youth gravity-racing program boys and girls ages 8 through 17 years old. The race will take place in downtown Hopkinsville on Bethel Street June 14 - 15. The goals of the Soap Box Derby program have not changed since it began in 1934: To promote families working together, to teach children some basic skills of workmanship along with the spirit of competition, and the perseverance to continue a project to completion. The Derby now includes a Masters Division and for FUN an Oil Can Race for adults.
