BEECHMONT, Ky. (6/9/13) – On Friday, June 7, 2013, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Curtis Crick received a complaint of a truck crashing into the Tobacco Shack on US Highway 431 in Beechmont.
Upon arrival, Trooper Crick found that the alarm had been activated, the operator of the vehicle had left the scene and the truck had recently been reported stolen to the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department.
After the property owner arrived, it was determined that 75 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, approximately $3400.00 worth, had been taken from the store. After obtaining evidence from the crime scene, Troopers Curtis Crick and Jon McGehee arrived at the residence of William Chris Daniel, Age 42 of Greenville. Daniel was then identified as the perpetrator that had been driving the truck and that had stolen the cigarettes.
Daniel was lodged at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on the charge of Burglary 3rd Degree.
The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Curtis Crick and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department.
