MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (8/10/13) – Darius Phillips, a 2012 Muhlenberg Job Corps graduate, recently stopped by the Job Corps center to visit with Kenny Brown, Center Director and his former CDL Instructor, Scottie Brooks.
Phillips came to Muhlenberg April 11, 2011, obtained his high school diploma on center and graduated May 2012. During his enrollment he successfully completed Heavy Equipment Operator and Commercial Driver Licensing trades. Darius is one of the many graduates that has taken full advantage of the career offerings at the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center. Phillips shared that he has changed employers twice since graduating and is now earning $60,000 year traveling all over the United States picking up and delivering cargo.
On top of that, Christopher Ramirez is a graduate of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center where he successfully completed the Clinical Medical Assistant trade. Christian came to the Muhlenberg Job Corps center from Reading, Pennsylvania to obtain workplace skills and certifications in the medical industry. Christopher recently obtained employment as an LPN Supervisor at the Liberty Nursing & Rehab Center in Philadelphia, PA making $18.55/hour. The staff and students of the Muhlenberg Job Corps would like to congratulate Christopher on his successful job placement!
The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center is a residential training facility for young adults between the ages of 16-24.
