MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (10/1/13) – Final plans are still in the works and new players are still being added for the Oct. 19 benefit softball tournament for 12 year old cancer victim Tyler Foster. Tyler is a Muhlenberg County child that is currently battling cancer.
Various fundraising events have taken place since young Tyler began his battle, and as has been the case with several other fundraisers for Tyler and others to assist in medical costs, this event looks to be another big success.
According to posts on the Facebook page, accessible HERE, for the event on October 1st , at least 16 teams have formed since the tournament was announced in late August.
The Beechmont IGA is helping, providing a case of hot dogs for the hungry players.
The page also notes that individuals are welcome to share the Facebook page information and invite people to join teams.
Teams, sponsors and donations are still greatly needed. To find out how you can help, contact Karen Galyen at 270-977-2935 or Megan Kirby at 270-543-7953.
According to the Team Tyler Foster Facebook page, the brave young man is responding well to treatment. Words of encouragement and prayers can be shared on the page link HERE.
