GREENVILLE, Ky. (11/1/13) - Atmos Energy has moved its Muhlenberg County service center to the Greenville Industrial Park. Atmos officials welcomed members of the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Oct. 31, for a ribbon cutting ceremony. For years, Atmos had rented a portion of a building at the corner of Cessna Road and the 189 Bypass in Powderly.

Kevin Dobbs, vice president of operations for Atmos' Kentucky Division told the audience that by purchasing the building at 109 Industrial Park Drive, he believes people will realize that the company plans to be a permanent part of the Muhlenberg County.

"We are going to be a part of this community for a long, long time. We want to assure you all of that," Dobbs said. "We are committed to our communities and this move is a win-win for Atmos and The Muhlenberg Count Alliance for Progress, This new building will enhance our efficiency and promote increased productivity for the employees." Dobbs noted.

Ken Robinson, President and CEO of Muhlenberg Alliance for Progress worked closely with Atmos in finding a permanent location.

"It's really good when others come through and see that businesses like Atmos are here, it just helps to build momentum," Robinson said. "MAP is proud to have the opportunity to work with Atmos on this project and help find a suitable site for this wonderful facility" Robinson added.

Peggy Williams, Chairperson of the Muhlenberg Industrial Development Corporation was also on hand for the ribbon cutting.

Williams said, "We're so happy to have you as an addition to the industrial park. Any time we as a community have called on Atmos in the past they have always come through. We appreciate their involvement in the Muhlenberg County area, and look forward to working with them more in the future. The MIDC is honored to have Atmos as a new neighbor in the park."

Greenville Mayor Ed DeArmond spoke to the audience as well.

"It's a bad day outside," DeArmond noted. "But the sun is shining on Greenville. Atmos has rented all their years here. Now they know what it's like to buy a home. We think this could be the first shot across the bow to encourage more businesses to take a serious look at Muhlenberg County's industrial parks." DeArmond added.

Customer service inquiries and payments will remain the same, according to a press release from Atmos' Media Contact, Kay Coomes. The local pay centers are Stewart's Foodliner at 506 South Main Street in Greenville and Stewart's Central City location at 219 South Second Street in Central City. Customer inquiries are to be directed to the Atmos customer contact center, which is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number to call is 1-888-286-6700. The Atmos 24/7 emergency number is 1-866-322-8667.
