Muhlenberg County, Ky. (11/25/13) — It's a busy one, two, three start for the Muhlenberg Mustangs this week as Tony Hopper's team prepares for regular season play. Hopper hopes to bring some of the magic he has brought to other teams over the years to the Mustangs.
Hopper was a Kentucky All-Star Coach during his time at Apollo High School in 2009.
Regular season action begins Dec. 3 with an away game at Russellville, followed by Grayson County in an away game on Dec. 6.
Logan County comes to West Campus on Dec. 7 and Henderson County on Dec. 10.
It will also be a busy holiday for the Mustangs, with appearances in the Hancock Bank Classic Dec. 19 through 21, and the Go Southern Classic Dec. 27 through 30. There will also be a First Security New Year's Bash at West Campus Jan. 3 and 4.
The 2013-2014 Mustangs include Neal Kirkpatrick, 5'10" guard of Central City; Kaleb Rolley, a 6' guard from Greenville; Zach Tarter, a 6'2" guard from Greenville; Will Broady, 5'9", of Greenville; John Reynolds, 6' forward from Belton; Hunter Noffsinger of Bremen; Clayton Stovall, a 5'9" guard from Greenville; Cortland Hampton, 5'10" of Central City; Kobe Drake, 5'10" guard from Greenville; Noah Brown, 5'10" starting forward of Bremen; Noah McElwain, 5'6" of Bremen; Cody Higgs of Greenville is the biggest Mustang on the team this year at 6'4".
Hopper said what his team may lack in height, he believes they'll make up for in drive and energy.
"This is a strong team, a very, very fast team, and I think a very good team. I think we might just surprise a lot of fans across the county and the state," Hopper told Surfky News.
