apples 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/16/13) - Fall is certainly in the air at Reid’s Orchard with events every weekend celebrating the thrill of cooler weather and falling leaves. This weekend, the orchard celebrates its 27th annual Apple Festival where visitors can sample all kinds of treats related to the tasty fruit.

“We’re all geared up for a great weekend,” Kathy Reid, co-owner of Reid’s Orchard, said.

More than 20 food booths will be set up for guests to experience the savory flavors of apple cider, caramel apple sundaes, apple slushies, fried apple pies, and apples will be sold from the orchard. Children can also enjoy a petting zoo and carnival rides.

The Apple Festival also provides a unique opportunity for groups such as 4-H, FFA, and the Majesty Christian School to give back to the community. The groups use the money they receive from products sold as a fundraiser for many different local charitable organizations.

Reid’s Orchard is located at 4812 Highway 144. The festival will be held Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.reidorchard.com.
