owensboro events 713 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (3/24/14) – The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is looking to hire umpires for Jack C. Fisher Park.

This position gets paid $27.50 per game.

For this reason the parks department is offering a one day Umpire Clinic for only $5 that will train participants on proper etiquette to use while umpiring. During this clinic participants will learn umpire positioning, rules and regulations of slow pitch softball, and have the opportunity to become NSA sanctioned. The sanctioning fee is $40 per person.

This is a National Softball Association clinic instructed by David Claycomb that will take place at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administration Office, located at 1530 McJohnson Ave.

The Umpire Clinic is Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
