In other business, Mayor Jeff Coomes reported that Fifth Third Securities is still in the process of investigating securities that are permissible for the cemetery perpetual fund and he would be talking to them later in the month.
For quite a while the city has been looking to move the cemetery fund money into a higher yielding account.
The board discussed the city limit signs that are currently at the entrance to town. They are in poor condition and in need of being replaced. The commission asked Mayor Coomes to get estimates for new signs to present them at the next meeting.
An update on the Zoning Ordinance and payment of the waterline grant were tabled due to the absence of the city attorney.
The Slaughters City Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
