surfky sun clouds 300WESTERN Ky. (7/8/13) – After a month of almost constant rain and thunderstorms, the Western Kentucky region is looking at considerably less chances of rain overall this week.

We’ll start the week out with a sunny Monday with temperatures topping out at around 90 degrees and a very slight wind. Tonight the temperatures will drop to around 72 degrees, with a few clouds coming through the area.

Tuesday will bring forth a chance of thunderstorms, but only a very small one. During both the daytime and evening hours there will be a 20% chance of random thunderstorms and showers, with the high for the day staying at around 90 and 73 for the evening hours.

Wednesday will be the beginning of a jump in the chance for rain and storms, up to 60%, with a high of 87 degrees. The same holds true on rain/storm chances for Wednesday evening, with a low of 71 degrees.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with a 50% chance of storms and a high near 85 degrees. Thursday night will have a high around 65 degrees and a small chance of showers and storms, but mostly clear.

Friday will be straight-up sunny with a high around 83 degrees.

As for the weekend, at this point we’re looking at a fairly clear one, but in Kentucky it’s not a good idea to stretch that far ahead in weather predictions.
