Art Exhibits at the Warren County Public Library

warren co pub library2 300BOWLING GREEN, Ky.(7/11/13) - Members of the The Sunny 16 Club will exhibit photography in the Porter Cafe at the Main Library starting August 1.

This exhibit features various photographic techniques and subjects from twelve of the club’s photographic artists: Melanie Henderson, Gretchen Gilkey, Larry Burnham, Julie Barrick, Howard Margolis, Jenny Morehead, Douglas Humphrey, Donn Miertl, Tony Wycihowski, Tommy Hatcher, Hack McCauley and Amy Ellis.

An exhibit of photography by Mark Griffin will be at the Bob Kirby Branch starting August 7.

“As a freelance photographer, I have met many people,” says Griffin. “I have met those who are Kentuckians by birth or by choice. A few couldn’t wait to leave the state while others made it their home. Regardless, the Bluegrass State left an impression on them.”

For this show, Griffin has photographed Kentuckians whose names may be known (John Carpenter). Other photographs feature lesser-known subjects like the two expatriates who live as organic farmers in Oregon.

The exhibit of Delaire Rowe’s work at the Smiths Grove Branch continues. “Artistic Pursuits” is an exhibition of ideas, observations and artistic self-expression by Rowe. The selections represent different times in the artistic life of one individual.
