WCHS track teams look strong in Henderson

troj track1 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (5/8/13) - Webster County track teams picked up several first-place finishes and the Lady Trojans placed third overall in the annual Henderson County Invitational held between rain storms Friday night.

WCHS senior Raven Baxter was a double-winner with victories in the 100 (12.8) and 200 (27.6) meter dashes. Darrian McNary also grabbed first in the long jump with a leap of 16’-1/2”. Both were members of the winning 4x100 meter relay squad .

Iszack Whitsell won the 3,200 in 10:21.0 despite gusty winds and rain hampering all events.

4x800 Relay: Webster County, third (11:36.3) Chanlor Cole, Madison Townsend, Kendra Woodward, Paige Tapp. 100 hurdles: Hannah Pritchett, third (17.3). 100 dash: Raven Baxter, first (12.8) 4x200 relay: WCHS (Tapp, Baxter, McNary, Zjonesia Bowling), third (1:55.9) 4x100 relay: WCHS (Tapp, Baxter, McNary, Zjonesia Bowling), first (56.5). 400 meter: Darrian McNary, third (66.4). 800 meter: Paige Tapp, fourth (2:52.1). 200 meter: Raven Baxter, first (27.6). 300 meter hurdles: Hannah Pritchett, third (54.2). 3,200 meter: Kendra Woodard, third (14:16.4), Taylor Wilson, sixth (15:34.9). Long jump: Darrian McNary, first (16’-1.2”).

4x800 Relay: Webster County (Robert Daughtery, Keenan Hall, Iszack Whitsell, Trevor Cole), second, (9:01.7). 4x200 Relay: Webster County (Tanner Corum, Seth Barnhill, Ryder Wood, Hall), seventh (1:50.8). 4x100 Relay: Webster County (Corum, Barnhill, Wood, Hall), fifth (50.1). 800 meter: Keenan Hall, third (2:05.8). 3200 meter: Iszack Whitsell, first (10:21.0). Discus: Justin Gilmore, fourth (94-11), Levi Tapp, seventh (92-1). Shot Put: Caleb Utley, eighth (34-4.5).

Both Webster County squads will complete in the annual Region 1, Class AA Championships scheduled for Saturday at Paducah Tilghman High School.
