xtreme5KENTUCKY (1/12/2012) - This is usually where I have a fairly creative way to start a blog.  This one, the first of 2013, is a little different.  I’ve spent a lot of time looking back over the past year, and all the years before.  I’ve realized, as I reach 31 years old, that I’ve failed quite bit.

You see, I could have been a better son, student, husband, father figure, and most important…preacher.  I’ve failed at everything I fought for, from being a son to a preacher.  I’ve let everyone I know down…at least once.  I could have reached more people, tried to help many more than I did.

Still, I look back over the years past and realize something else…God continued to bless me!  Why?  I’ve asked myself that all too many times.  The answer is simple…and applies to every one.  Because God forgives, and forgets.

You have to realize something, something that many people fail to realize.  When you ask Christ into your heart, when you take that step towards Him, you become a new person.  Jesus paid the dept for all your sins…past, present and future.  You become perfect in God’s eyes.

It’s in Jesus’ grace that we are new, perfect, and holy.  As long as we are saved by the blood of Jesus, God’s grace is on us.  No exemptions, no stipulations…just forgiveness!  How amazing is that?!

You see, just as a new year brings new chances to start over…the blood of Jesus brings a chance to start your life over.  We can all become a new creation, start fresh through Jesus Christ.  There is nothing that can keep us from becoming new and reaching paradise, except our failure to accept His perfect gift.

Realize, that we will always fail.  No matter how hard we try, we are all failures.  We must realize that while the world will remember those failures, God won’t…as long as we accept Jesus and His gift.  It’s that FREE gift and Jesus’ sacrifice that makes us perfect before God.  Yes, we can all be perfect failures…if we choose Christ and follow Him with all we have.
