xtreme5KENTUCKY (3/16/2012) - There is a common epidemic sweeping our world, one that is effecting “Christians” everywhere.  Somewhere between the time that Jesus walked this earth, to today, we “Christians” have changed…and not for the better.  While it’s true that we have never been “popular” among the world, but things have changed in the world’s eyes about us.  Our image, our reputation, our reach into the world…all have been all but lost.

You see, somewhere over the course of time, those that follow Jesus have gone from being true disciples of Christ…to becoming the very pharoses that crucified Him.  Humbleness has been replaced with ego, love has been replaced with pride, and our mission has gone from reaching the world to building an image of ourselves.

Still, there is so much more to “Christianity” than people realize.  Understand, that there is more than stain glass windows.  There is more to being “Christian” than church or tithing.  It goes deeper than sermons or music.  The “Christian” faith is more than a religion, it is a way of life…it’s the only way of life.

To be truly Christian, we can’t alienate ourselves from the world.  We can’t work on building and keeping this “perfect” image, turning a blind eye to the real world, and striving to be segregated from the “sinners” of the world.  You see, when Christ walked this earth, He never ministered in the temples…where the “religious” were.  No, my Jesus ministered to those on the streets, He loved the sinners and reached out to the lost.

Beyond the “Christian” veil, behind the stain glass and away from the steeples, there is more…so much more.  There is a true lifestyle that goes with it.  To be truly saved by Christ is life changing, there should be a true love for the world and all that are in it.  Beyond the “Christian” veil, there is no throwing your “Christian” title around to try and gain something from others…there is no underhanded tactics to try and hurt others.  Beyond the “Christian” veil, there is true love…for everyone.

See, I truly believe that if we removed this “Christian veil” that we would see a truth that not many would enjoy seeing.  I believe that if we took off the blinders and let the world, including ourselves, see the true facts…that we would see just how distant we have become from the Father and His will.

Yes, there is another way to live…as a Christian…a true Christian.  There is a better way to live, to love, and to reach the world.  The real way to live brings peace, blessings, love, mercy, grace…and can move mountains.  If we can learn to truly live as “Christians,” to truly follow Christ…we can change our lives and our world.  We can see true change, change that will never come from any president or government (no matter how much they promise “change“)…but a change that only Jesus can bring…if we can go beyond the “Christian veil.”
