NHopkins marchingband 02131FRANKFORT, Ky. (2/13/14) – Senator Jerry P. Rhoads, D-Madisonville, honored the Madisonville North Hopkins Marching Maroons today at the State Capitol for their championship performance in the 2013 KMEA Class AAAA Marching Band Competition.

This is their ninth consecutive KEMA state title.

“I want to congratulate Randy Adams, his assistants and the Marching Maroons on the outstanding legacy of excellence they have established. I applaud them for the distinction they have brought to their school, to Madisonville, to Hopkins County, and to our great Commonwealth,” Senator Rhoads said.

The Marching Maroons, under the direction of Adams and his assistants, Alan Emerson, Cory Mullins and Katie Herrenbruck, competed Oct. 26, 2013 to capture their ninth consecutive class AAAA Grand Championship title by defeating several other finalists with a score of 90.86.

“Their win continues a remarkable and celebrated ritual,” Senator Rhoads said. “The band has established a rich tradition of excellence at Madisonville North Hopkins High School and these students are to be commended for their talent and dedication.”

The band has a great deal of support in the community.

Senator Rhoads praised the Marching Maroons Band Boosters for their inspiration, devotion and tireless efforts over the years to assist the band in every way possible.

The Kentucky State Senate adjourned today in honor of the Madisonville North Hopkins Marching Maroons.

Senator Rhoads represents the 6th senatorial district, which includes Butler, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Ohio counties.
