MAYFIELD, Ky. (6/5/14) — Kentucky State Police are investigating the escape of a Graves County inmate who walked away from his work release detail Thursday afternoon.
Troopers were notified by State Highway workers just after 12 p.m. when William Clark failed to return from the restroom at state highway maintenance facility on Crittenden Drive in Mayfield. Troopers and Deputies with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office searched the immediate area with no success.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. a stolen vehicle was reported to State Police. The vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup with Jays Electric written on both doors, was taken from Crittenden Drive also. It is believed the truck was stolen by William Clark.
Clark is described as being a 23-year-old white male standing 5’3” tall and weighing 145 pounds. He has short brown hair with a light complexion. William Clark was incarcerated for Theft, Burglary, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.Kentucky State Police Trooper Cory Hamby continues to investigate the escape.
