TIBURON, CALIF. (8/11/14) ― One of America’s favorite comedians and actors has died at age 63 apparently by his own hand.
CNN is reporting that the Marin County, Calif., Sheriff’s Office suspects that Robin Williams’ death stemmed from suicide due to asphyxia. Williams’ media representative Mara Buxbaum told CNN that Williams had been battling depression lately. He was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m. today, Aug. 11.
Williams was known for his comedic performance as Mork in the “Mork & Mindy” comedy show, which was a spinoff from the highly-successful, comedy series, “Happy Days”.
He won critical acclaim as an actor in films like “Good Morning, Vietnam,” “Dead Poets Society,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” and “The Birdcage.” He won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for “Good Will Hunting” in 1998.
