WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (10/31/12) – The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.

Providence Police
Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell reported the following arrests and accident:
 
•Christopher McKay, 26 of Providence, was arrested for 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
•John T. Messamore, 23 of Providence, was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property Under $500.
•Nychelle Woolfolk, 25 of Providence, was arrested on 3 counts of 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment.
 
Sheriff’s Report
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following activity:

Sat., Oct. 20, 12:04 a.m.
An accident occurred on Hwy 132 in Dixon. According to Deputy Steve Madden, Zachary Powell, 21 of Henderson, swerved to miss and animal in the road and struck a mailbox. The vehicle continued on, exiting the roadway from the right shoulder and struck an embankment. There were no injuries reported but Powell’s 2004 Dodge Durango was towed.

Sat., Oct. 20, 4:15 p.m.
An accident occurred on Hwy 41 in Sebree. According to Deputy Jay Workins, Dee Green, 51 of Robards, was backing out of a parking lot and didn’t see the 2207 Ford Mustang belonging to Donald Craig, 53 of Robards, parked behind her. There were no injuries reported and both vehicles left under their own power.

Sun., Oct. 21, 7:45 p.m.
An accident occurred on Hwy 41 in Sebree. According to Deputy Steve Madden, Roger Daulton, 41 of Sebree, was attempting to back his 2006 Toyota Tacoma out of a parking spot at the Sebree Dollar store when he struck a 1996 Dodge Carvan owned by James Wilson, of Calhoun. There were no injuries reported and both vehicles left the scene under their own power.

Tue., Oct. 23, 12:00 a.m.
An accident occurred on Hwy 120 three miles east of Providence. According to Deputy Jay Workins, James Lamb, 45 of Salem, KY, was traveling westbound on 120 when a deer ran into the road. He struck the deer, which had to be put down by responding officers. There were no injuries reported, and Lamb’s 2009 Chevy Express left under its own power.

Wed., Oct. 20, 5:02 p.m.
An accident occurred on Hwy 132 near Clay. According to Deputy Donald Jones, Elsie Wallace, 68 of Clay, was turning from KY 1340 onto KY 132 when she was momentarily blinded by the sun. She turned her 2001 Buick Century into the path of the 2012 Dodge Charger belonging to Nicole D. Watson, 35 of Dixon. Watson tried to avoid the wreck by going off the shoulder of the road and striking a sign post, but was struck in the right front. Wallace was transported to Regional Medical Center by Providence EMS, and Watson was transported to Methodist Hospital by Webster County EMS. Both vehicles were towed.
 
Jailer’s Report
Webster County Jailer Terry Elder reported the following activity:
 
The Webster County Jail housed 254 inmates during the week of October 21 to 27. 37 of these were County inmates and the other 217 were from the state.

Inmates worked a total of 4719 hours. The bulk of these went to jail maintenance, where inmates put in 3455 hours. Inmates spent 400 hours with the Road Department, 256 hours for the City of Providence, 128 with the State Highway Department, 80 hours with the Water Department, 64 hours in Dixon, 64 hours on roadsides, 64 hours with the dog warden and 16 hours in Clay.

Webster County Circuit Court
The following court cases were presented in Webster County Circuit Court recently:

•Alissa Nicole Hogan, 34, was found guilty on charges of Theft of Identity of Another Without Consent, a Class D Felony, Theft of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony, and 2nd Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Hogan to one year in prison for each felony charge and twelve months for the misdemeanor, all to run concurrently for a total sentence of one year.
•Jefferey S. Ivy, 39, was found guilty on charges of Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine, a Class C Felony and Receiving Stolen Property (under $10,000) a Class D Felony.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Ivy to serve twelve months for possession, five years for receiving stolen property and ten years for attempting to manufacture meth. All sentence are to run concurrently for a maximum sentence of ten years.

Deeds
•H.R. Marks Jr. and Mary Jane Marks, Alex Marks and Cathy Marks and Colby Durand Marks and Nancy Marks to Bonita Chandler, property in Webster County.
•Bradley G. Baldwin and Jamie Clark to Richard Robert Nason Jr, property in Webster County.

Marriages
•Deborah Lynn Collier, 43 of Dixon, to Brent Michael Branson, 36 of Dixon.
