WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/7/12) – The following is your weekly update of events and activities in the Webster County area.
Food Pantry Schedule
The Food Pantry, the Five Thousand Food Bank, located at Webb Memorial Methodist Church in Clay is currently closed for restructuring. The Mobile Pantry will be available from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Dec. 19.
Dixon Senior Center Classes
Dixon Senior Center will be offering the following classes: Line Dancing - Tuesdays at 9 a.m.; Quilting classes - Thursdays at 9 a.m.; Exercise classes - Tuesday, Thursday & Friday at noon. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 639-5394.
Soles4Souls Shoe Drive
Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay is hosting a shoe drive for Soles4Souls until Dec. 16th. Individuals can help by donating some of the 700 million pairs of shoes thrown away each year. If you would like to donate shoes or for more information about the shoe drive contact the church at 270-667-2411.
Masons Family Night
Jachin Lodge #739 will have their annual Family Night on Thursday, Nov. 8. A pot luck meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. and regular meeting of the Masons will be held after the meal. Members are urged to attend.
Church Revival
New Hope General Baptist Church in Clay will have their annual revival beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11th. The Stone Family will be singing. Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m. and Steve Stone will be the Evangelist. All are welcome to attend.
UMW To Meet
The Providence United Methodist Women will host Mike Morrissey from Thailand mission for a potluck dinner and presentation at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Fellowship Hall of the church. Please RSVP to Sue Loux, 667-5913 or 635-1489.
Veteran's Day Parade
Providence Elementary will have a Veteran's Day Parade at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. The parade will start at the elementary school and proceed through town. Everyone is invited to line the streets and support our Veterans and children.
SBDM Council To Meet
Dixon Elementary School SBDM Council will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the conference room.
Annual Christmas Parade
The Providence Chamber of Commerce will hold the annual Christmas Parade at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. There is no fee involved and Christmas decorations are required. Following the parade, there will be a gathering at the Community Center for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus sponsored by Independence Bank. For information call Sue Loux at 667-5913.
