WCHS Band Students Earn Spots on All-District, UL Honor Bands

wc band 300WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/21/12) – It’s been a growing year for the Webster County High School Band, but under the leadership of new Band Director Nathan Clark they have done just that.

After winning “Best in Class” and “Best Color Guard” at their competition in Henderson this year, the Trojans went on to the AA West Quarterfinals. The top eight bands advanced, Webster missed out by only one spot.

Five members of the WCHS have been selected to perform with the U of L honor band in January. This is a state wide ensemble where students are selected based on recommendations and past musical achievements. Kari Alsbrooks, Kullen Floyd, Haley Corbin, Talon Roy and Hunter Roy were all accepted to this event.

Three members of the Webster County Band have also been named to the All-District. Haley Corbin, Kullen Floyd and Dylan Stone beat out musicians in their grade levels from Daviess, Henderson, McLean, Hopkins and Webster Counties to earn their spots.
