police beat 3WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/21/12) – The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.

Providence Police

Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell reported the following arrests and accident:

Tue., Nov. 20, 10:00 a.m.
Traci Wilmoth, 43 of Providence, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/ECT. .08, Driving on DUI Suspended Lcense-2nd Offence, Failure of Non Owner to Maintain Required Insurance/Security-2nd Offence and Failure to or Improper Signal.
Warren Scheer, 25 of Providence, was cited to court for Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
Brian Armstrong, 34 of Providence, was arrested on a Bench Warrant from Crittenden County.
 
Jailer’s Report

Webster County Jailer Terry Elder reported the following activity for the week of Nov. 11:
Inmates worked 4,592 hours during the week. The bulk of those were spent on jail maintenance with 3,510 hours. Other hours were Road Department (288), City of Dixon (72), City of Clay (48) City of Sebree (128), City of Providence (184), Dog Warden (42), Webster County Water (80), Roadsides (96), Non-Profit (8) and State Highway (136).

Webster County - Circuit Court

The following court cases were presented in Webster County Circuit Court recently:
•Steven Robert Hackney, 43, was found guilty on charges of Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs (1st Offence), a class B misdemeanor, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), a class D felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor and Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License, a class B misdemeanor. Judge Rene Williams ruled that the defendant was sentenced to a total sentence of three years imprisonment, probated, ordered to pay the DUI fine and lost license for 90 Days.
•Bradley H. Hayes was denied Shock Probation by Judge Williams.
•Shock Probation for Melissa J. Holmes was revoked after Officer Wade Wolfe with Probation and Parole said she attempted to alter the results of a drug screen, was in possession of a controlled substance, falsified report of alcohol use and failed to attend treatment. By order of the court Holmes was resentenced to serve five years in prison for Criminal Attempt to Manufacture Meth and Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor.

Webster County - Grand Jury

The Webster County Grand Jury convened on Nov 13. During their session, the grand jury indicted:
•Bobby D. Vailes, 36 of Clay, on charges of 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class D felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
•Tommy Duane Langston, 42 of Dixon, on charges of Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence - 1st offence, a class B misdemeanor, two counts of 3rd Degree Assault, a class D felony, 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police, a class A misdemeanor, and for being 1st Degree Persistent Felony Offender.
•Cody L. Parker, 29 of Clay, on charges of Theft of a Controlled Substance, a class D felony, 3rd Degree Burglary, a class D felony and two counts of 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, a class B Misdemeanor.
•Harvey Sizemore, 64 of Dixon, on charges of Cultivating Marijuana 2nd Offense, a class C felony and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a class D felony.
•Nick Roosevelt, 70 of Providence, on two charges of 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class D felony, two count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class D felony.
