Police beat2 300WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/28/12) – The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.

Sheriff’s Report

Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following activity:
Tues., Nov. 6, 5:48 p.m.
An accident occurred on KY270 near Clay. According to Deputy Jay Workins, John Kebeck, 35 of Princeton was heading east on 270 West when he lost control entering a curve. He traveled across the road and struck a guard rail, overturning. Kebeck’s 2001 Ford F350 was towed. There were no injuries reported.

Thu., Nov. 15, 1:36 p.m.
An accident occurred on KY370. According to Deputy Donald Jones, Jarred Cooper, 20 of Sebree, had turned into a driveway to turn around when he took his eyes off the road. He exited the roadway and struck a utility guide wire. His 2001 Chevy S10 traveled up the wire and overturned on its passenger’s side. There were no injuries reported, but the vehicle was towed at owner’s request.

Thu., Nov. 15, 3:11 p.m.
An accident occurred on KY1340 near Dixon. According to Deputy Donald Jones, David Frazier, 52 of Dixon, was stopped to make a turn when Ian Daniel, 17 of Clay, attempted to pass to his left. Frazier turned left into Daniel’s 2001 Chevy Blazer. There were no injuries reported. Frazier’s 1997 Chevy Blazer left the scene under its own power, but Daniel’s vehicle was towed.

Thu., Nov. 15, 5:31 p.m.
An accident occurred in the IGA parking lot in Sebree. According to Deputy Donald Jones, Jerry Haynes, 27 of Sebree, was leaving a parking spot he side- swiped a parked 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee belonging to Jessica Buchanan, 34 of Sebree. Both vehicles received moderate damaged but remained in service.

Fri., Nov. 16, 4:16 p.m.
An accident occurred on US41A near Dixon. According to Deputy Scott Starkey, Coleman Barnhill, 20 of Providence, was traveling on US41A in his 1988 Ford Ranger when Austin Cruce, 18 of Hanson, stopped in the roadway. Barnhill’s vehicle slid into the back of Cruce’s 1999 Ford F-150. Cruce reported that he was stopped to turn left. There were no injuries reported. Barnhill’s vehicle was towed, but Cruce’s left under its own power.

Mon., Nov. 19, 3:11 p.m.
An accident occurred on KY109 near Providence. According to Deputy Cory Patmore, Angela Carlisle, 40 of Clay, was traveling on 109 in her 2010 Nissan Altima when a deer entered the roadway. Carlisle swerved to the right, going off the roadway and striking a mailbox. She then over corrected, went off the road again, striking an earthen embankment and then going head-on into a state road sign. Carlisle sustained a possible broken nose, concussion and complained of neck pain. Her vehicle was towed.
 
Jailer’s Report

Webster County Jailer Terry Elder reported the following activity for the week of Nov. 18:

•Dog Warden - 50
•Water Department - 56
•Roadsides - 24

There were a total of 252 inmates housed in Dixon. 214 of those are state inmates, with the rest being from Webster County.
 
State Police
The Kentucky State Police report that nine people died in seven separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.

A total of 657 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is eight fewer than reported for this time period in 2011. Of the 518 motor vehicle fatalities, 288 victims were not wearing seat belts. Of the 73 motorcycle fatalities, 38 were not wearing a helmet. Eleven of the 13 ATV fatalities were not wearing a helmet. Forty-six pedestrians, one scooter/moped rider and six bicycle riders have been killed. A total of 119 fatalities have resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555.

The following court cases were presented in Webster County Circuit Court recently:
•Jeffrey S. Ivey was granted Shock Probation by order of Judge Rene Williams.

•Whitney Brooke Williams, 21 of Dixon, to Ryan Neal Carpenter, 19 of Dixon.
•Heather Jean Sugg, 30 of Sebree, to Eliseo Eduviges Navarrete Lopez, 30 of Sebree.
