WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/28/12) – The Webster County Fiscal Court returned from the Thanksgiving holiday with a very brief meeting Monday morning in Dixon.

First on the agenda was the sale of the Carhartt building on 41A in Providence.

“I received the survey this morning, so that should be done this week,” said County Attorney Clint Prow.

The building was purchased earlier this year by Tim Smith of S & S Salvage. The final sale was pending the annex of a small piece of the property by the county for its sewer/odor control injector pump building and allowing for an easement for the county to the building.

The only piece of new business on the agenda was a Resolution for the Purchase of Dispatch Equipment. Providence Dispatch had initially agreed to sell the county government it’s dispatch equipment, but the City has since decided not to sell.

“We put in to purchase dispatch equipment from Providence for $125,000, but they no longer want to sell that,” said Judge Executive Jim Townsend. “But we still need the upgrade.”

Judge Townsend read the resolution to the magistrates. Basically as the purchase was to be made with Local Government Economic Development Funds (LGEDF) and single-county coal severance funds, they have to officially reallocate the money.

Next Friday Judge Townsend and County Attorney Clint Prow will travel to Bowling Green for mediation of the long-going Blackford Bridge lawsuit.
