WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (1/16/03) – The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.
Providence Police
Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell Reported the following arrests:
Tue., Jan. 15, 9:00 a.m.
•Joey Stone, 31 of Clay, was arrested for 2nd Degree Disorderly Conduct.
•Brittney Shoulders, 23 of Providence, was arrested for 1st Degree Criminal Mischief and 1st Degree Criminal Trespass.
•Cody Smith, 23 of Providence, was arrested for 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
•Whitney Gibson, 22 of Providence, was arrested for 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
•Josh Melton, 35 of Providence, was arrested for 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
•Kristi Prow, 41 of Providence, was arrested for 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
Sheriff’s Report
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield also reported the following accidents:
Friday., Jan. 4, 7:29 p.m.
An accident occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway near Sebree. According to Deputy Steve Madden, Tia Huddleston, 27 of Henderson, was traveling southbound when the vehicle in front of her came to a sudden stop. Huddleston tried to avoid the other vehicle but lost control of her 2003 Toyota Camry and came to rest in the median. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle left the scene under its own power.
Wed., Jan. 9, 12:25 p.m.
A fatal accident occurred on KY 132 near Clay. According to Deputy Donald Jones, Deloria martin, 66 of Marion, was eastbound when her vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road. She over corrected and went into a skid. The vehicle struck the end of a guard rail with its driver’s side. Deputy Coroner Todd Vanover pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Thur., Jan. 10, 8:38 p.m.
An accident occurred on US41A near Providence. According to Deputy Steve Madden, Mariah Herrera, 16 of Providence, was entering a curve when she lost control of her 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. The vehicle went off the road and struck an embankment, causing it to overturn approximately three times. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle was towed.

Webster County - Grand Jury
The Webster County Grand Jury convened on January 8. During their session, the grand jury indicted:
•Brian John Hall was indicted for Illegal Taking of Deer/Wild Turkey.
•Felicia K. Newman was indicted on charges of 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana and Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
•Christopher S. Newman on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, Operating an ATV on a Roadway, Operating an ATV on Property without Consent, 3rd Degree Criminal Trespassing, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana and Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Webster County - Circuit Court
The following court cases were presented in Webster County Circuit Court recently:
•Nick Roosevelt was offered pretrial diversion on charges of two counts of 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, all class D felonies. Roosevelt entered a plea of guilty on charges of Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest, both class A misdemeanors. He was sentenced to twelve months for each charge to run concurrently. Further, Judge Rene Williams Probated these charges for two years, as long as the defendant follows the conditions of his pretrial diversion.
•Jason Golike was convicted of 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police, a class D felony, 4th Degree Assault, a class A misdemeanor, Disorderly Conduct, a class A misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor and being a 1st Degree Persistent Felony Offender. Golike was sentenced to a maximum of four years on each felony charge and twelve months for each class A misdemeanor, all to run concurrently.
•Judge Rene Williams issued an Order Voiding Pretrial Diversion for Shannon D. Hooper, reporting that Hooper violated the conditions of her Pretrial Diversion.
•Joseph Earl Buchanan plead guilty on eight counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sex Performances by a Minor, a class D felony. He was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for all charges, all to run concurrently for a maximum of two years.
•Damien Aaron Golike plead guilty on charges of 2nd Degree Criminal Trespassing, a class B misdemeanor, Theft by Unlawful Taking, a class D felony and Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia in Unapproved Container with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, a class B felony. He was sentenced to 30 days for 2nd Degree Criminal Trespassing and five years for the Unlawful Possession of Meth, all to run concurrently.
•Darrell R. Felker plead guilty to charges of being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a class D felony, 2nd Degree Disorderly Conduct, a class B misdemeanor and 3rd Degree Terroristic Threatening, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year for the Firearms charge, 30 days for the class B misdemeanor and twelve months for the class A misdemeanor, all to run concurrently.
