WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/13/13) - The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.
Providence Police
Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell Reported the following arrests and accidents:
Mon., March. 4
•Raymond Walters, 48 of Providence, was cited to court for Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance/Security-1st offense and Failure to Use Child Restraint Device in Vehicle (2 counts).
•Larry McChesney, 36 of Providence, was arrested for Contempt of Court/Libel/Slander Resistance to Order and for Failure to Illuminate Head Lamps.
Wed., March. 6
•Brooke Stevens, 32 of Clay. was arrested for Failure of Non Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance/Security 1st offense and Disregarding Traffic Control Device-Traffic Light.
•Sandra Johnson, 41 of Providence, was cited to court for No/Expired Registration Plate and One Headlight.
•Susan Whitfield, 33 of Clay, was cited to court for No/Expired Registration Plate, No/Expired KY Registration Receipt, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and Failure to Notify the Department of Transportation of Address Change.
Thu., March. 7
•Kristi Gentry, 29 of Providence, was arrested on a Parole Violation Warrant.
Mon., March. 9
•Tosha Below, 36 of Sturgis, was cited to court for No Operators License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and Failure to Illuminate Head Lamps.
Sheriff’s Report
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following accidents:
Sat., March. 2, 10:29 a.m.
Deputy Scott Starkey responded to an accident that occurred on KY 983 near Dixon. According to the report, Brittney M. Morris, 24 of Dixon, was traveling eastbound in her 2005 Pontiac Grand Am when she topped a hill and the vehicle in front of her applied their brakes. Morris attempted to slow her car but began to slide on the wet pavement. She slid off the side of the road and struck a utility pole. There were no injuries reported but the vehicle was towed.
Sat., March. 2, 10:39 p.m.
Deputy Steve Madden responded to an accident that occurred on KY 1340 near Clay. According to the report, Zachary Chaykowsky, 17 of Morganfield was approaching the junction of 1340 and 132 in his 2004 Honda Accord and did not realize that the roadway ended. He was unable to stop and exited the road, striking and earthen embankment. No injuries were reported but the vehicle was towed.
Thu., March. 7, 7:13 a.m.
Sheriff Frankie Springfield responded to an accident that occurred on KY 138 near Slaughters. According to the report, Michael Cline, 55 of Slaughters was traveling westbound on 138 in his 2005 Pontiac Aztek when a deer entered the road. He attempted to stop, but his vehicle began to slide. He spun around, crossed the center line and struck and embankment. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle had to be towed out of the ditch but left the scene under its own power.
