WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/20/13) - The Slaughters Commission held their monthly meeting on Monday August 5, 2013.
Mayor Jeff Coomes reported on his meeting with Fifth Third Securities regarding the cemetery perpetual fund. Fifth Third is in the process of investigating securities that are permissible for this type fund before a final decision is made.
The commission has been looking at moving funds in the cemetery fund into a higher yielding account for the last several months.
Mark Little, City Attorney, noted that the Zoning Ordinance will be prepared in notebook form along with the map by GRADD and he will pick it up in Owensboro.
The commission then voted to approve a bid from Bennett Paving to make repairs to the walking trail at the city park.
Finally Jonathan Jones with the Slaughters Fire Department, discussed with the board several pieces of equipment needed by the fire department. These needs will be submitted to be purchased by an equipment grant.
