traffic accident 300CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (12/10/12) — An accident resulting in a fatality on the Pennyrile Parkway is currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police (KSP) Troopers.

At approximately 3:30 PM on Monday, December 10, Troopers responded to the northbound side of the Pennyrile Parkway near the five mile marker in response to a rollover collision.  A preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Corolla operated by 29-year-old Stephen Grace, of Crofton, was northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway when his vehicle began to travel towards the median. Before entering the median, Grace’s vehicle struck the end of a guardrail causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times landing on its top.

Grace, the only occupant of the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries from the crash.  Grace was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Trooper Luis Palmer is continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision.  The northbound lanes of the Pennyrile Parkway were closed for approximately two hours while crews cleared the scene.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Hopkinsville Fire Department, the Christian County Coroner’s Office, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
