Elderly Woman Hospitalized from Deer Related Accident

ksp deer 300WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (11/30/12) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway, at approximately the 55 mile-marker, on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 5:15 p.m.  
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that Linda Sue Bledsoe, age 66 of Waleska, GA, was operating a Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway when a deer entered the roadway. Bledsoe’s vehicle struck the deer which caused her to lose control. The vehicle exited the roadway and traveled into the median where it came to rest.
 
Officials stated that there was some difficulty removing Bledsoe from the vehicle.
 
Bledsoe was transported via ambulance to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers.
 
KSP Trooper Jonathan Murphy conducted the investigation. The Hanson Volunteer Fire Department and Webster County EMS assisted at the scene.
