KENTUCKY (12/30/12) – The area looks to have an interesting New Year’s Eve with some more wintery weather on the horizon.
Today and tonight will not show much change, with a high in the upper 30’s for the day and upper 20’s for the nighttime hours.
Monday, on New Year’s Eve, there will be a change for the worse. Most of Western Kentucky will likely see a small chance of some freezing rain and sleet in the early morning hours, changing to just rain and sleet until the afternoon. The weather might change to rain and snow after 3:00 PM. The chance of precipitation during the day hours is 50 percent. On Monday night, everything is predicted to change to straight-up rain after 9:00 PM.
New Year’s Day will bring a small chance of drizzle before noon and cloudy for the rest of the day, with the highs possibly reaching the upper 30’s.
After these fronts move through, it looks like we’ll be seeing some sunshine throughout next week, but lower temperatures will remain.
