KENTUCKY (1/25/13) – SurfKy News has received reports of numerous traffic accidents throughout the region from various Transportation Cabinet and law enforcement officials.
Several accidents have been reported on the WK Parkway, as well as on rural roads throughout the area.
Some accidents are occurring in other areas that one would not expect, such as downtown Madisonville and other urban areas.
One accident on WK Parkway, at the 84 mile marker in Ohio County, involves three semi-trucks, with eastbound lanes completely blocked and traffic backed up for several miles. Also reported on WK Parkway are several vehicles off the road between the 98 and 100 mile marker in Hopkins County. Traffic is slowly moving through this area.
Southern Pennyrile Parkway also has several vehicles off the highway as well.
According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet official, Keith Todd, there are also several vehicles off the roadway along I69, northbound between the Natcher Parkway interchange and the Caneyville exit.
Though the roads have been thoroughly treated for tis rough weather, do not expect that there are no slick spots. There are many, and driving conditions are currently dangerous. If you must drive this morning, take great care and use caution.
