l33mpiuqWESTERN KENTUCKY (5/16/14)  – The third annual Highway 41 Yard Sale is set for June 27-28, 2014 in Western Kentucky, spanning over 150 miles.


The sale will include both Highway 41 and Highway 41A. Participating cities on the 41 route include Henderson, Anthoston, Robards, Sebree, Slaughters, Hanson, Madisonville, Earlington, Mortons Gap, Nortonville, Empire, Crofton, Kelly, Hopkinsville, Pembroke, Trenton and Guthrie. Participating cities on the 41A route include Henderson, Cairo, Poole, Dixon, Providence, Nebo, Manitou and Madisonville.

Hundreds of local individuals, businesses, and groups are expected to participate this year, setting up yard sales and craft booths on their properties along the highway.  This unique event allows visitors from Kentucky and surrounding states to enjoy an exciting shopping experience, while taking in the distinctive flavor of the region’s unique restaurants, shops, and southern hospitality. The sale will also provide an excellent opportunity for local organizations and clubs to hold fund-raising events.


Property owners located along the route may participate in the event by either holding a yard sale or sidewalk sale or offering the use of their property to yard sale participants. Property owners who offer the use of their property may decide whether to charge a fee for that use, as well as the hours and days they will participate. Those Henderson County participants interested in selling food should contact the Environmental Health Office at the Henderson County Health Department.


A limited supply of yard signs are also available for property owners on the routes. You may pick up your sign at The Depot at 101 N. Water Street in downtown Henderson. The first sign is free. Additional signs are $2 each. There are no necessary registration forms for this event.
