MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Blackwell’s Diner and Sports Bar has been in business since May of 2007 with owners Eric and Leslie Blackwell, who have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years prior to opening the doors at Blackwell’s.
Blackwell’s prides themselves with their local down home atmosphere and made from scratch recipes.
“Our way may not be the fast or easiest way, but it’s the right way and the best way,” said Eric Blackwell. “We hand-batter our chicken, fish, fried pickles, make homemade desserts and dressings. Doing it right, not the easy way.”
The most popular items on their menu include the Blackwell burger, homemade chicken salad sandwich and fried pickles.
- Blackwell burgers are made with fresh ground beef chuck, sesame seed buns, and dressed to order with an array of fresh toppings.
- The homemade chicken salad sandwich is made from all white-meat chicken breast prepared fresh every day from a family recipe passed down from Blackwell’s grandparents. They serve this extraordinary recipe on toasted wheatberry bread.
- Fried pickles are an all-time favorite at Blackwell’s. This is a homemade appetizer made fresh (never frozen) to order every time. The breaded deep fried dill pickles are sure to satisfy both sweet and savory taste buds.
Open daily Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., closed Sundays. Blackwell’s is located at 11 West Center Street in downtown Madisonville, Ky. Parking is available on the street or in the neighboring parking lot.
