St. Charles Man Stabbed in Fight

ST. CHARLES, KY (12/10/12) – The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has released information regarding a stabbing incident that took place over the weekend.

According to Sheriff’s Detective Will Coursey, on Saturday, December 8, 2012, Deputy Mark Gentry was dispatched to a disturbance in St. Charles.  During the initial investigation Deputy Gentry discovered that the victim, 30-year-old Thomas Hickerson of St. Charles, had been reportedly accidentally stabbed by the suspect when the victim bumped into the suspect. The victim was later transported to Baptist Hospital for his injury and underwent surgery.

During the investigation it was found that the victim and the suspect were involved in a struggle and during that struggle the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest.

The suspect, 25-year-old Amber Martin, was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.

HCSO was assisted by Med Center Ambulance and Kentucky State Police.
