Medical Examiner Releases Cause of Death of Madisonville Woman

breakingnews surfky 300 aHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (1/16/13) – The medical examiner’s office has released its final report in the death investigation of 36-year-old Lisa Sullivan.

On December 6th, 2012, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department was notified by CSX that a northbound train crew observed that there was an unresponsive subject on the tracks near Ed Brackett Lane. Deputy Jamie Lampton was dispatched to the scene and discovered the body of Lisa Sullivan. Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield responded to the scene and pronounced the female dead.

According to the medical examiner’s office Sullivan died from blunt force trauma caused by being struck by a train.

During the investigation the sheriff’s office learned that three different trains struck Sullivan. Video from the trains show that Sullivan was lying parallel between the tracks. Sullivan was difficult to see due to the heavy camouflage clothing she was wearing.

No foul play is suspected in her death.
