MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/17/2013) - UPDATE: The two-vehicle accident that occurred yesterday morning on Route 1069 (Stagecoach Rd.) has resulted in the tragic death of 55-year-old David Haywood, passenger in the Ford Taurus driven by his 75-year-old mother Luann Haywood. Yesterday’s last update was that both of the Haywoods were listed in stable condition.
In a report received from the Hopkins Co. Sherriff’s Office today, it was learned that Mr. Haywood passed away sometime after 8 p.m. last night at Baptist Health Madisonville Hospital.
Deputy Mark Gentry, who is investigating the incident along with crash-scene reconstructionist, Deputy Scott Troutman, said that the cause of death is still unknown. A full investigation of the wreck is pending, and more information will be released as results of that investigation are revealed.
There was also a correction to the information given in yesterday’s press release: The age of the other driver, Joseph Martin, is 17, not 16, as previously reported.
