Local Heroes Walk and Run to Fight Like a Foster

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/15/13) – It was an extra busy Saturday morning for the Rails to Trails path behind the Central City Convention Center on Saturday. Many extra weekend walkers, and runners, spent their morning helping in The "Fight like a Foster" Benefit fundraising.
 
Saturday's 5k walk/run helped in the ongoing efforts of Muhlenberg County citizens to help 12-year-old Tyler Foster. Tyler is bravely battling osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer.
 
Some walkers know Tyler, while some did not. According to those involved, they only know that they want to help.
 
Grayson Wells, principal of Muhlenberg South Elementary School was one of the many to turn out. He says this fight is a personal one for him. "Tyler is one of my students at Muhlenberg South. His mother, Susan, is a teacher's aide at our school, and we're doing all we can to help the family." Wells said.

Matt Carver, preacher for the Horton Chapel Church of Christ in Belton explained that, "as a church we are always interested in the goings-on of the community. We heard about Tyler's battle and wanted to support that in any way we can."
 
The bright red boxing glove which has become the symbol of the "Fight for Foster" efforts can be seen everywhere throughout the county. Even on key chains.
