arrest doubleMADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/15/13) – On Friday evening, June 14, 2013, Madisonville Police Department (MPD) officials performed an arrest of two individuals on various charges, including Shoplifting and Fleeing/Evading Police.

According to Police officials, at approximately 8:38 PM, MPD received a complaint of a shoplifting incident at Walmart. Once on the scene, Officer Justin Jones noted a male matching the description of the reported suspect leaving the store in a black vehicle.

After leaving the parking lot, the vehicle was seen on East Center, and then entered Pennyrile Parkway. The vehicle exited the parkway onto Island Ford Road. Once officers located the vehicle, they found that it was abandoned. A search of the vehicle revealed stolen items and a stolen registration plate.

After a search of the area, the suspects were located by Officer Russell Nichols and Officer Darnell.

After questioning, the individuals admitted to a number of thefts in Walmarts in Muhlenberg County and Madisonville. Officers recovered 119 items total.

Jason Pointer, 33 of Central City, was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking (Shoplifting), Fleeing/Evading Police, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate, Wanton Endangerment, Alcohol Intoxication and Possession of Open Alcohol Container in Motor Vehicle.

Reanna Burks, 22 of Evansville, Indiana, was charged with Complicity of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Complicity of Receiving Stolen Property, Complicity of Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate, and Fleeing/Evading Police.
