Two Busted for Drugs During Traffic Stop

drug arrest meth 03 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (1/20/14) — After a Kentucky State Police Trooper performed a traffic stop, the driver was charged for possessing marijuana and her passenger was charged for having methamphetamines.

According to a KSP report, Trooper Jon McGehee stopped a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Melinda R. Tucker, age unknown, at about 1:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20. He charged Tucker with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and then conducted a search of the vehicle.

The search revealed methamphetamines and items used to ingest controlled substances.

Tucker also was charged with careless driving, no registration plate, no registration receipt, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain proper insurance and failure to wear a seat belt.

Her passenger, Tobias L. Harvey, 33, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Both were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

The Central City Police Department assisted with the arrests.
