lions club logo1 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (8/19/14) — The 56th annual Central City Lions Club Charity Auction will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, as part of Everly Brothers / Rock ‘n Roll Cruise-In activities in downtown Central City.

The auction is the largest and oldest annual fundraiser for the long-standing civic organization, which was chartered here in 1940 and continues to provide thousands of dollars in vision care and community service assistance each year to Central City and Muhlenberg County.

The auction will take place on the main stage.

Dozens of brand-new items donated by area businesses will be available for bids at the auction as well as scores of valuable certificates for services such as car washes, oil changes, groceries, fine dining, photography and so much more. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the CCLC vision care and community assistance fund.

In addition to the auction, the CC Lions Club is also raffling off a fantastic big screen HDTV. Raffle tickets are currently available from any Central City Lions Club member and at all banking locations in Central City. They are $1 each or six for $5.

The television drawing will be held Saturday night at the Cruise In finale and you need not be present to win.

For more information about the 56th annual Central City Lions Club Charity Auction and TV raffle, contact CCLC president Mike Mercer at (270) 754-2265 or secretary Mark Stone at (270) 754-2331.
