isaac shoulders 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (12/31/13) — A Webster County man died during a logging accident Monday, Dec. 30 on Dame Road just north of Hanson.

Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield told SurfKY News that James Isaac Shoulders, 21, was cutting down trees around 3 p.m., when an unexpected accident happened.

“This was a pure accident,” said Mayfield. “He was cutting down a tree and it just fell on him. He died from those injuries.”

According to the coroner, Shoulders was sawing a tree for a company that has been clearing land along the Pennyrile Parkway. The tree kicked back and fell on him causing multiple blunt force trauma on the scene.
