MADISONVILLE, KY (11/15/12) – On Wednesday, November 14, the Madisonville Fire Department (MFD) reported two instances of activity within the Madisonville city limits.
At approximately 3:15 PM, a Madisonville Sanitation Department employee notified station #1 that a woman had fallen and was injured on the corner of Main St. & Center St. Engine-3 and F-1 responded to the scene. Upon arrival fire crew found a woman sitting on the sidewalk with injuries she had sustained from the fall. Fire crew requested Medical Center Ambulance Service for advanced medical care. Engine-3 crew assisted with care until M.C.A.S. arrived on scene and took over patient care. Madisonville Police Department was also requested to the scene for traffic control. The patient refused transport to the Hospital. No further action was taken. All units returned to station.
At approximately 4:06 PM, MFD received an alarm from Central Dispatch for a fire alarm activation at 738 Princeton Rd (IDEAL Market). Central Dispatch phoned the fire department and stated that the alarm company called and said it was a false alarm. Battalion-1 responded to check on the location non-emergency. Upon arrival, employee stated that she had hit the fire alarm button on the key pad by mistake. The area was deemed safe. The fire unit returned to station.
