Victims' Identities, Details of Stagecoach Collision Released

Crash UpdateMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/16/2013) – UPDATE: The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department released further details concerning the accident that occurred this morning on Route 1069 (Stagecoach Rd.). Click here to view the original article with photos posted this morning.

According to the report, 16-year-old Joseph Martin was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon, traveling south on Route 1069 when he crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Ford Taurus occupied by Luann and David Haywood. Luann, 75, who was driving the Taurus, and David, 55, the passenger, were both transported by Medical Center Ambulance Service to Baptist Health Madisonville and treated for their injuries.

At last report, both were in stable condition. Martin was driven by private vehicle to Baptist Health and treated for an injury to his foot.

This unfortunate accident serves as a reminder for everyone to drive attentively and carefully on the winter months’ unpredictable roadways.
