firereports2011new c 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/8/14) — The Madisonville Fire Department released the following reports Tuesday, April 8.

According to the Madisonville Fire Department report, fire personnel were dispatched to a vehicle fire on 838 E. Broadway St. Upon their arrival, firefighters found a fully involved fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle, and were able to deploy an already connected 150’ attack hose line to extinguish the fire. Firefighters noticed the occupants were inside the home looking out the window, they were then asked to vacate the structure due to fire impingement on the home.

After the fire was extinguished, the structure was evaluated for fire extension. The cause of fire is suspected to be from a possible oil leak from the engine.

The vehicle and structure were deemed safe.

According to the Madisonville Fire Department report, fire personnel were dispatched to a trailer fire on Nebo Road on the property of Calhoun Feed on April 6. The call came in as a request from Assistant Chief Ray Wyatt, who had observed a column of smoke while travelling on Nebo Road. Wyatt arrived on scene and notified responding units of a fully involved recreational vehicle. Upon firefighter arrival, they were able to deploy a 150' pre-connected hose line.

The fire was extinguished by a combination of water and class A foam. The exact cause of fire was not determined. However, evidence of criminal mischief was present. This included the front door being ajar and electronic equipment located outside of the structure. It was also noted that there was no source of power on the structure.

Madisonville Police Department responded to the scene to perform an investigation. The scene was deemed safe and was turned over to the police.
