DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. DRIFTS UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (National Weather Service)

firereports2011new c 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/6/14) — The Madisonville Fire Department released the following report Wednesday, Aug. 6.

According to the Madisonville Fire Department report, fire personnel received an alarm from central dispatch for a small outdoor fire located at 244 S. Main Street.

Upon crews arrival, a square foot of mulch was found burning in a parking lot next to Vance Lawn Equipment.

The crew was able to distinguish the fire by using a portable water extinguisher.
