OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/3/13)-Tumbleweed has been an established restaurant in the Owensboro area since their grand opening in 1997, but on Monday they had their first ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce, welcoming their new catering service.
“We are excited about our catering menu,” Dan Schroeder, restaurant manager, said. “Anytime you’re eating, we can cater to you.”
Last year, the Owensboro Tumbleweed broke the record of money raised for charity in the whole corporation.
“It’s amazing to see something like Tumbleweed be so involved in the community,” Amy Jackson, President and CEO of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, said.
Tumbleweed has drink specials such as Margarita Monday, where all of their original margaritas are 99 cents, and Thirsty Thursday, where all domestic drafts are 99 cents.
This Thursday, they will be hosting the Annual Celebrity Server Luau from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Missy Gant, Membership Manager for the Chamber will be one of the special guest servers. This event will help raise money for the Goodfellows Club of Owensboro. With a coupon, the restaurant will donate 15 percent of the customer’s sale to the club after $1,500 is reached.
Tumbleweed is located at 5257 Frederica St. To get your coupon for the Goodfellows Club fundraiser, visit: http://www.goodfellowsclubofowensboro.org/.
