big bug1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/5/13) - Western Kentucky Botanical Garden staff and volunteers started setting up today for David Roger's Big Bugs Sculpture Exhibition. The exhibit will include 11 sculptures representing nine different bugs.

Susie Tyler, who helps oversee the facility, told SurfKY News this is only the second time Kentucky has hosted this exhibition. According to Tyler, the first exhibition was held in 2008.

"We had about 13,000 people visit then," Tyler said, noting she expects to see a similar sized crowd this fall.

The show will open on Thursday, Sept. 12, but a Walk & Talk Lunch with host David Rogers is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 10. Reservations are required for those who wish to attend this event.

Various other events, including a VW Beetle Cruise In, a two-day Scarecrow Festival, and the 2012 Grammy nominated WannaBeatles, are also scheduled to make an appearance.
